A few months ago I was asked to go to Kazakhstan to help Proclaim! with another tour. At the time things were really crazy and I really wasn't sure things were going to work out this time around. A few weeks ago Alisha and the boys were in a wreck that totalled our only car. In a week Alisha is scheduled to start a new job. At the end of this month the boys will be done with school and so will I. With everything going on I was sure that God was just letting me sit this one out. Just out of curiosity I contacted JB at Proclaim! and found out that they are still looking for someone to do sound for the tour. Absolutely no one they have asked is available to go on this tour. I was felt heavy burdened when I heard the news. I was certain that God was going to send somebody. I talked with another close friend and after he shared some verses of scripture and some very encouraging words, he asked me to reconsider this trip. Today Alisha and I talked it over and we are committing to pray fervently about this endeavor. Here are some details:
The trip is from May 13-May 30. That means I would need to be on a plane in about ten days or less. Also I haven't raised any money. Whatever happens I trust that God is leading us and if He wants to send us he will provide the money.
So please be praying that God will be very clear about whether or not this is something He wants me to go do.
Also Alisha and I have been praying that God will give us some direction for after this semester. I will be talking to a Church tomorrow about a potential job. I don't want to give to much information about this but if I get this job this will also be a very big game changer.
This feels like a season of very big change for us. We are hoping that God will give us clarity as we move forward. Please be praying with us as we are pursuing God's will for our family.
Thank you so much,
David, Alisha, Isaac, and Liam Cook
P.S.
We would love to hear from you guys so feel free to send a message with your words of wisdom or encouragement.
We'll be praying brother! -Alex
